Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18th, 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix had an early flair in sports as she was in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She was able to see her speed-running talent at that moment. The school placed second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships after only 10 weeks, after the first time she tried out. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation having signed a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas after which she enrolled in the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. The following year, Felix won the first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking the world junior record running 200 meters with a time of 22.18 seconds. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix was named the world's youngest champion in the 200-meter race. The title was upheld at the 2007 World Championships, beating her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She always finished among the top three in all events.
