Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained pastor at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's aptitude for sports was evident right from the first day she began her studies at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first attempt, she finished in second place in the 200 meter event in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed an agreement with Adidas. Then she attended the University of Southern California and was a teacher in the elementary school. Her first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by taking 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. She became the youngest World Champion in the 200m during the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007 beating her longtime Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed within the top three in all her competitions during the Olympics held at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
